Goodbye Binky........Hello Bike

We asked Jaxon what it would take for him to give up his Binky. He told us a new bike, so on Saturday we went to Walmart to look at the bikes. He picked out the one that he really wanted, and when we left the store we told him that when he was ready to not have a Binky anymore then he could get the bike. On Sunday, he decided that he was going to throw his Binky's away!!! Yeah!! (Don't worry - he is almost 4!) So we decided to cut up the Binky's - no going back. He has done really well. He cried a little last night, so we got on the Internet and he was able to look at the bike he picked and it calmed him down. We were supposed to leave for Lake Powell today (we ended up not being able to leave till tomorrow) so we told him when we got home the new bike would be waiting for him. Well, since we didn't leave he was sure he was getting his bike TODAY!! He cried for his Binky a few times and i would just tell him "you don't have a Binky anymore because you are getting a new bike" he kept saying "then i want my bike"......i really couldn't argue with him on that, so we went to pick up his bike....he was soooo excited!!
GOING...

GOING...

GONE!!

Realizing he just cut up his most prized Possession!!

Picking up his new "HOT WHEELS" bike!

We went up to Grandma's to show her the new bike

Such a big boy!!

Doing tricks!!

Jaxon, you rode your bike so much! You kept going across the grass, up the sidewalk, back to Grandma's driveway! You are AWESOME at riding your new bike.

I couldn't help posting this cute picture of Millie, she liked watching Jax ride his new bike!

We went to Barbacoa for a yummy lunch to celebrate the big step!

Jaxon, we are so proud of you for giving up your Binky, we know that was really hard for you - We love you so much big guy!!

Yummy!!

Millie has decided that she really doesn't like baby food anyway! She wants to eat what everyone else is eating......Last night Kent's family came over for dinner (Lasagna) and so i made her up a little plate. She wanted to feed herself, so i let her have at it!!
She really enjoyed it, as you can tell.......

Millie, you looked so cute feeding yourself. You are getting so big......we love you!

Pioneer Day

We had a pretty fun day today. Jaxon went swimming with Grandma Drake, his uncles & aunt, and all his cousins, Millie stayed home with Grandpa Drake and Kent and I went to see Batman: The Dark Knight. I actually liked it, Kent thought it was okay but he could have survived without seeing it. Then we went over to Aunt Joys and had a BBQ - it was very tasty and we ended the evening with some fireworks.

Everyone waiting for the FIREWORKS - yeah!!

Jaxon was really excited for the "show" to start

Millie & me.....Mills liked watching the fireworks.

This firework was called Rock -a- Baby - it kind of rolled around as it went off. It was pretty cool!

Kent and Sherman (his other wife!!) messing around

Not sure why Millie's hand is down my shirt!?!?!

Poor little Millie cut her finger just before we were heading home. Kent was holding a can of pop and Millie reached for it, and her finger just caught the can as Kent was trying to move it out of her way! It was bleeding pretty good - she hardly even cried but i felt so bad for her.

On the ride home she pulled off her band aid and got blood all over herself again....in her hair, in her ear, on her legs, on her clothes & car seat.....so sad!!

Crazy Dancers!!

Sleepy Head

The other night i was going up to bed and when i got to the top of the stairs, this is what i saw:

I couldn't stop laughing, he has never done this before...... What a tired boy!! (I know, he still has a binki - we are working on getting rid of it - any suggestions???)

Doctor, Doctor....

Millie's 9 Month Dr's appointment went well, considering the shots and all.
Date: 6-26-08
Length: 28in (50%)
Weight: 16lbs 1 oz (5%)
Head Circ: 43.2 cm (25%)

Millie seems so big to us, but the charts says she's just a little one!
She did well with the shots, Jax on the other hand was a bit concerned that she had to get a couple - what a cute big brother!!

A trip to the DENTIST!!

A few weeks ago Jaxon had a Dentist appointment. The last few times he has gone, he really didn't like the dentist, he wouldn't let the nurse take X-rays, he didn't want the dentist to look at his teeth and Kent had to come just to hold him down. I had forgotten about his appointment, so it was too late for Kent to get time off work, i was pretty worried so i had my Mum come and sit with Millie. Jaxon surprised me and did so AWESOME. He let them take his X-rays, he let them clean his teeth, and he let the Dentist look at his teeth......all without crying!! Yeah Jaxon - you are getting to be so big.
Waiting for the Dentist to check him out - no cavities!! Yeah!!

Watching a movie while he waits

He got to be in the CAR's room - Jax though it was GREAT!!

Splish Splash....

Millie & Jaxon were having so much fun in the tub tonight, i couldn't help but snap a few pictures.

Jaxon was being so cute playing with Millie

Tonight Millie showed us a couple new tricks, standing up to reach for the Shampoo....And when she got thirsty, she just got herself a drink! Yummy!!
Jaxon with his soap beard.
All clean and ready for bed. You are both so cute!!!

A must see blog......

I admit i am a blog stalker.....i click from one persons blog to another, i become fascinated in people's lives, people i don't even know. One day as i was "stalking" i came across a blog, i don't even remember how....but i am so glad that i did. I faithfully have read this blog everyday ever since i found it. I have shed tears as i have read of this families trials. About a month ago they lost their almost 14 month daughter to an accidental drowning in their backyard spa (they had only had it for 5 days) The mum has wrote on her blog almost everyday since she lost her daughter. She is one of the strongest women i know. Even though i have never met her, i feel a bond with her.....she is my sister in the gospel and i am thankful for her strength to share her trials with so many people. This blog will make you want to hug your children a little longer and try a little harder to be the person you are meant to be. Check it out at www.adailyscoop.blogspot.com (make sure you read the comments as well, you will not believe how many people's life this has touched.)

Together FOREVER

On Thursday July 3rd, we were sealed in the Mt Timpanogos Temple. It was such a wonderful day and spiritual experience. Jaxon and Millie behaved so good and looked so beautiful all in white. Our close family and friends were able to share the day with us and we are so thankful for all the support that we received. We are thankful for the Gospel and for the knowledge we have that families are FOREVER!!

What a great day - Who could ask for anything more!

(Thanks Amanda for taking our pictures!)
