July 4th

HAPPY JULY 4th

We headed up to Deer Creek to go boating in the morning. When we got there it was windy and cold, but it didn't take too long before the sun started coming out from behind the clouds- even though the water stayed really choppy. We got a little picnic area in case everyone didn't want to be on the boat the whole time. Jaxon loves riding on the boat, going fast... but he does not like going on the tube - which is surprising since he is such a daredevil at everything else. (We took him on the tube at Lake Powell and we were going so slow the tube sank and i had to pry his hands off the tube to get him to jump off - he had a death grip on it and was going to go down with it!!!)

After we were done boating we came home, showered and went to Kent's cousins house for a BBQ - we had planned to play baseball, but after all the good food, we just couldn't bring ourselves to get up and play. Then we headed over to watch the fireworks. We always have a good view - we watch them from Kent's Uncles work which is close enough to Thanksgiving point but far enough away we normally can miss most of the traffic jams.
Kent was showing the kids that he could ride the Rip stick!
We skipped out a little bit early, the kids were so tired from a long day and i still needed to get things ready for primary the next morning. It was a great day, i am thankful to live in such a great country and have such a great family!

JORDAN turns 18!!

July 1st was my nephew's 18th birthday. My sister and her husband did a wonderful BBQ up AF canyon. It was so much fun to sit around the camp fire and roast marshmallow's and have smore's (yum). Reed (my brother in-law) is a pro at the BBQ and made some fabulous food. I can't believe that Jordan is 18!! I remember the day my sister called England and told us all that he had arrived a few weeks early!! Jordan you were one of the cutest babies EVER! You are so funny, loveable, handsome, creative, caring, stylish (in your own weird way!!) and you have the wildest hair that fits you just right!! Jordan you make us laugh and we hope you had a great birthday!! We love you so much bud!
Lauren - really enjoying a smore!

Great Friends

About a month ago, a few of my friends got together at Paradise Bakery to have lunch and chat. It was fun to meet up with the girls that were the first friends i made when i moved from England. We were all in the same ward and it was great catching up. I have fond memories of us all hanging out and growing up together. It is always so much fun to catch up with old friends!! Thanks Girls!

Food Storage

Tax time came around and we decided that we should take a few hundred dollars and put it to good use and stock up on some food storage. We loaded up a couple of carts at the Smith's case lot sale and got some great deals!!
Getting it all unloaded from the car:Getting it organized in the storage room:

I found these great storage bins at Home Depot - they are stackable but you can still open the lid WITHOUT unstacking them all - they are AWESOME!!

It really does feel great to have some food storage - even though we still have a long way to go. When i first got the room all organized i just couldn't stop going in and looking at everything that we had! The internet has some great info on food storage but the girl that real inspired me to get my butt into gear is at the website: http://www.myfoodstoragedeals.blogspot.com/ and http://www.dealstomeals.com/member_page.cfm Her Food storage in unbelievable!!

Jaxon's SURPRISE...

If you know Jaxon, then you would know he is the spitting image of his dad. Everything Kent loves - he LOVES. The same goes for Kent's hobbies. Kent loves to dirt bike and so does Jaxon. He kept asking and asking for a little dirt bike that he could ride when we went camping at Easter. We had been hoping that we could save a little from our tax return and get him a used one. Kent searched the Internet and we found a great deal on a Kawasaki (had to be green - just like dad's) that was like brand new. Kent went to pick it up and took it over to his Mom's house (where Jaxon was) He just had it in the back of his truck and when he got there no one was home. So Kent sat waiting for them to get home and as soon as they pulled in Jax saw it and went CRAZY with excitement!!! I was nervous that he would need the training wheels but he took off like a pro. He rides so well and loves his bike.
He now has Millie hooked and sits her on it and she acts like she is riding it - making sounds and all.

Kent has his own SHOP

Kent has been wanting to get his own shop for a while and in May we finally took the big step of getting him one. He has some side work that he had no where to work on it - so we found the perfect place in Lehi....only about 10 minutes from home and affordable - Kent we are so proud of you - you are always working hard to provide for our family - We love you!!

It's about time!!!

FINALLY, a post from us. I know you have all been DYING to know what has been going on with our family! We are all just enjoying life, the kids are getting bigger and we are loving the warmer weather. It will take a while for me to catch up with all the things i want to post..

So here it goes......
